The end of the Skywalker saga is getting closer with «Star Wars: The rise of Skywalker, Episode IX», whose final trailer premiered recently before the expectation of millions of fans gathered to see the latest preview of the new film, which will be released in December.
In addition, the galactic franchise also put on sale the first tickets to see the movie in US theaters, where it broke records by selling in its first hour 45% more than in the pre-sale of «Avengers: Endgame», so far the highest grossing film in history, according to the Atom Tickets platform.
During the American TV broadcast of the football game that faced the New England Patriots and New York Jets, Disney and Lucasfilm Studios unveiled this two-and-a-half-minute clip in which the classic Luke Skywalker characters return, Princess Leia and Emperor Palpatine.
Since the premiere of the preview, both the terms of Star Wars and the names of the characters in the franchise have taken top positions in social media trends, which was more shaken with a publication of a poster with the image of the main cast of the movie.
In the trailer, you can see character Rey (Daisy Ridley) running through the jungle and seemingly preparing to fight against evil embraced by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). «People keep telling me that they know me. No one knows», Rey says during the video. Users in social networks highlighted that in a few seconds, it seems like both characters, Rey and Kylo, have to destroy the mask of Darth Vader.
In other part of the trailer, you can hear Emperor Palpatine whispering: «I have waited a long time and, now, your arrival together is your ruin». In several scenes are seen the cute robots C-3PO, R2D2 and BB-8, just before the end, where Luke Skywalker say: «The Force will be with you. Always». Although the most emotional moment is the embrace in which the young queen and Princess Leia (the late Carrie Fisher) merge.
As you should know by now, this final film will put an end to the Skywalker saga, but it is not over for the beloved franchise. Disney announced last May that Star Wars will continue, for the moment, with three more films that will be released in 2022, 2024 and in 2026. There will be lightsabers and space wars for a while. «The story comes to an end, but it will live forever», as they say in the trailer.
For the director of the film the pressure is maximum, since he has the responsibility to offer a satisfactory conclusion to such a popular and beloved saga, a franchise that is almost a religion for many fans. Something Abrams himself is aware of. «The finals are what scares me the most», the director acknowledged in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. «It’s about closing this in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfactory in terms of answering as many questions as possible», said the filmmaker.
